A game of Xu Yinchuan

Grandmastere Xu Yinchuan is one of the leading players of Guangdong.

Posting one of his game.

BGN World Xiangqi Challenge, 4th round preliminary stage. Xu Yinchuan versus Nie Tiewen, 21st April 2001, Beijing.

Black resigned.

[Remark] On Xu's move of 7. P7+1, commentator Yan Mujiang said it is normal play that Black plays his Elephant after the exchange of Cannon, the most common play for Red is N3+4. According to Yan, the move of P7+1, that is using the 3rd and the 7th Pawns to curb the opponent's Knights, has never been played before.
